This is the first book in the series I have read. I did not feel like I was left out of anything and followed pretty easily.
The characters are great and interacting together and there are some laugh out loud moments. The author does a good job with the cafe scenes you feel like you are a customer.
I will be checking out more books in this series and by this author.
